Title: Potential scope issue weaver k4
Post by: fisheral87 on January 04, 2015, 07:53:04 PM
I tried zeroing my grandfather in laws pre war model 70 with the weaver k4 fixed power scope it came with. I was able to adjust to get a couple rounds centered but I would drift high and right consistently each successive shot after adjustment.

Scope?

I did go through a box of ammo in under 1 hour, could have been the barrel?

I admit that I am still a beginner marksman but I shoot my current hunting rifle well and feel this is more than the limitation of my abilities.

Thanks,

Al

Al.  Could be several things.  Gun does not like that ammo.  Bases and or rings not tight.  (First thing I would check).  Actions screws not tight. Check those things and try different ammo.  Let the barrel cool every 3 rounds.  It could be wandering with heat.  After all that I would start suspecting the scope internals, so try swapping out a different scope.
