So I went clamming for the first time ever this weekend. It was a blast. Myself, my cousin, and her boyfriend, none of us had a clue what we were doing. We drove down to Copalis beach, spent about an hour walking around trying to figure out what we were doing. But when the clams finally showed up they showed up great! In 40 minutes of digging all three of us got a limit. Great time had by all! Can't wait to go again...I think I got the clamming big!(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftapatalk.imageshack.com%2Fv2%2F15%2F01%2F05%2F015d546c3f3b36834e2cf60e4d3d70c6.jpg&hash=4e8b396a9b981f899b0e66dc4814a1c7e5a2a244)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftapatalk.imageshack.com%2Fv2%2F15%2F01%2F05%2Fb25e675a43db2eca9c75cf0da732f41b.jpg&hash=3564c090887215725c7107051c78d40d74f53cbb)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Ftapatalk.imageshack.com%2Fv2%2F15%2F01%2F05%2Fbadd33f63089451a15fb461f01b05bfb.jpg&hash=b566aca77e84b965a8a2698ae56761a74dce24aa)

That's just awesome
When I was a kid my grandparents would take me clam digging. Took my wife to her first dig a couple years ago and mine in like 30 years. Now we go once or twice every year for morning digs. Great times and fond memories

That looks great. I'd sure love to give it a try sometime!

Awesome job! It can sure be fun when the weather is decent, and the clams want to dance.... Looks like you got some good sized ones as well.

A bunch of us from our neighborhood went to Pacific beach New Years Eve for 5 days of clammin'. We limited out in 15-20 minutes everyday. No small ones either, they were all huge. We had 6 houses rented and some campers. Our little house was directly across from the state park, so all we had to do is walk out the door and right onto the beach, very convenient. Some of our group brought their canners and canned their clams right off, but we just cleaned and froze ours for later canning, which in my opinion, is the best way to deal with razor clams. The first 2 days were beautiful then it turned icky, but it was still a lot of fun and we'll probably do it again next year. I wish I could share some pictures, but unfortunately, I was being really lame with not taking any :'(

I can't take any credit for the pictures. My cousin is picture happy so we have a ton of them! It was good times. I'm gonna try to get out a few more times later.
