Last weekend while hunting the Potoles area we had a situation happen that dissapoints me greatly. My brother and I shot 2 limits of green heads on Friday. When we returned to the boat ramp Saturday morning there was a boat sitting on the ramp with engine trouble. They moved over and let us launch. Greatly appreciated. I asked what the problem was. They told me their fuel line was not holding pressure. They had a 12' aluminum boat painted tan with an 8 horse Mercury outboard. They had placed some fencing material on the sides covered with grasses as a blind. Thought I would mention that incase someone runs into them. Both seemed about 30 ish. Anyway. I offered my spare 8' fuel line since they would be hunting the same area were in I figured it would be no problem. I even offered to tow them to their blind. I told them they could leave the fuel line in the back of my truck when they finished. I waited until they got their engine started and we left. After a half hour or so they did not appear. I did not want them stranded floating somewhere. I got in my boat, still very dark and went looking for them. I went all the way back to my truck. They and their boat were gone. They also TOOK MY FUEL LINE. I am quite sure KARMA is going to plague these guys the rest of the season if not he rest of their lives if this is how they repay kindness. Hopefully I will see them again REAL SOON. Beware the rath of a patient man. Very Dissapointed. Flip side ..We shot 3 more limits of Green heads to finish out a nice weekend.

Well if they are smart they won't hunt in your area again, mabey them being ass hats will force them out of that piticular area? Suck we all can't be honest, good job though trying to help.

Really sorry to hear this story.
Honor is important to me. It is always twice as disappointing when the person without honor is another hunter.
I guess that's why we have two cheeks. :(

I guess this falls under "No good deed goes unpunished"! :dunno:
That was really great of you to offer your fuel line and then go back and check on them. It's nice to know some of us still have higher standards. Way to go.

That's too bad,but like you say what comes around goes around, maybe why you got your second limit on greenheads. I've helped people like that most of my life only to be let down most of the time by them. After a while you don't really feel like helping anyone out anymore.Being a good samaritan really sucks sometimes..

No good. I carry plenty of spare parts as well from lessons learned and would have done the same.

I don't carry a lot of extra parts myself, spare prop, cotter pins and such are about it, but I do inspect my gear carefully prior to the start of each season and if anything is in doubt, it is replaced.
It has only happened once, where I have been broke down at the ramp, If so I load back up, go home and fix it. There is always tomorrow. I would not want you worrying about me and messing up your day. I'm not a big believer in "bad Luck". Either you are prepared or you are not.
Karma = 3 more limits of green heads ;)
