I had my smith devcon in a couple aluminum rods into the fore end of my Kimber Montana stock.  Really stiffened things up and made it sit in down in the hand really nice.

My thought is that you can get a more accurate rifle for the money rather than adding wieght. Though if you have one allreaday a  bell carolton tactical stock and a bed job would add a pound or so.

Who would ugly up a beautiful rifle with a god awful b&c tactical?   :chuckle:

I added 26" premium tube at the same time i did my stock work. Kimber action is a great platform.   They cycle like a dream, especially if you like the wsm rounds.   My accurized Montana was cheaper than my Coopers and shoots in the same class (actually a little better than my Phoenix/MTV).

Of the 10 or so rifles that I have built over the last 15 years, it is my favorite hunting rifle ever.

I am going to go with a 280, I like a rifle 7 lbs + with scope. am not sold on Kimber in the first place, they only offer 280 ackley improved on the site. I am not  sure they would do a custom, . factory options are sort of limited in this cartridge. Might go custom or rebarrel (semi custom). :dunno: :dunno:rifles to eliminate are easy for me. It seems like a factory gun should be good with out custom work. :bash:
so maybe a Remington 700 with work, Ruger 77 with work, Browning X bolt?, Sako 85/finnlight? :dunno:
I do not want to fight about it but no : Howas, weatherbys, savages, tikkas,TC's, are on my list.
I just do not like  super light rifles.

Coopers are great!  I bought my first one as a deployment present to myself in 10 years ago.
