Like the title says....I need to do a brisket on the traeger and I can't find one.
Costco says they don't carry them often and when they do it is in the summer. They said the market in this region is not good when it comes to briket.
Not a huge fan of Mikes Meats....just cause the price of his meat. :yike: He must feed his cattle gold. :chuckle: :chuckle:
Surely there is a place relatively close I can find a great Brisket. Speaking of which....how do you know a good brisket vs a bad brisket. I am a first time brisket cooker. :chuckle:

Surely your normal grocery stores carry them. I can get them here at Walmart, yokes, winco and cash and carry. Don't worry about a good from a bad one. Just get one, anyone and cook it low and slow. Wrap in foil with some beef broth if you need to save some time. Will make it super tender. Some call it cheating, but who cares, if it produces good eats. There have been several threads on smoking brisket that you can search for if you want more cooking advice.
If your grocery stores dont have them out don't be afraid to ask the meat guy. I ask often for cuts of meat that they never have displayed and they cut them for me.

:yeah:
And don't call me Shirley >:(
:chuckle:

Fred Meyer has them and so does Safeway

Can't say any of the stores around here have them on display. I will ask the butchers to see what they have. Our cash and carry only has frozen meat to my knowledge.....I want to stay away from that if possible. I would really like a fresh unfrozen brisket for the first go.

Your Cash and Carry has a whole cooler full of meat.
They all carry the same selections. Never been to one that didnt have a walk in cooler full of meat.
Although the one in Wenatchee isnt the best one I have visited but still a cash and carry.
Bone in pork butts, baby back ribs and briskets are the 3 most common meats I buy when I go to one.

Give them a call.
Walmart carries them as well as costco.
Good Luck in your pursuit.
Oh 1 more thing Mikes Meat at the Pybus Market has killer meat and can get you any size brisket you want.

Mike does have killer meats if you want to empty the bank. I know cash and carry has them.

Bought an 8 lb prime rib from them for Christmas $170.00, But worth every penny.
Not a cash and carry gig forsure. I do like getting meats like pork butts and briskets from C&C.
Have enough money left over for a few long necks.

I'd check out Cash and Carry.

OK... Thanks for the help. I called URM and found out they do carry Brisket. It is hidden away in corner I never knew existed. I just picked up a 12 lb'r.....Yummyyyyyyy!! :IBCOOL: :IBCOOL:

Just as a warning to Wenatchee folks or people in the surrounding are traveling to our URM. It is very different than those on the West side. I talked to the manager and they are ran differently and stocked far differently than others. The store is smaller so they don't carry as much. As an example.......our URM does not carry smoker pellets (per the manager when I ask this summer).
The walk in cooler here had a very small amount of meat. It had pork butt, brisket, pork loin, and a few lunch meats, that is it.

Mike's Meat is CRAZY EXPENSIVE!!!! I bought a bone in 10 lb prime rib for $115 from Costco. I refuse to buy Mikes beef and pay his prices. With that said I will buy his bacon and pork products...as they are at least reasonable.

That's too bad. Our URM over here in Spokaloo has all the goodies in the meat selection. I frequent the cooler there.
Maybe find someone coming your direction. (I do occasionally and could let you know next time i'm come over) Wife has family in E. Wenatchee

The cash and carry in Spokane is real nice.
The one in Wenatchee not so nice. But I figured the had to have Brisket. Its only about 2 miles from my parents home so I drop in there every now and again.
Glad you found the brisket Jrebel.
