Title: Any skookumchuck action
Post by: duckmen1 on January 23, 2015, 04:05:32 PM
Gearing up for steelhead season and this is typically where I fish. Has anybody been catching any steelhead or late silvers out here lately? Or even possibly the chehalis or wynoochee/ satsop. This is the general zone I'll be focusing this season. Only a bank fisherman so no drift boat for me unfortunately.
I'm gonna take a trip down probably next week to explore some new water out there on the skookumchuck. Maybe get a fish if I'm lucky.
Picked up some new jigs from GetUmDry. And also figured out more efficient ways of tying yarnies which I've never used and tied some of those up. Gonna try to expand my knowledge this season and learn as much as I can on these fish. Can't wait to see this seasons success.

out of all the years i've been fishing, and all the fish i've caught on jigs since i started using them, i've never caught one in the spookumsuck on a jig.  bait or spinners are the only things that have ever seemed to work for me there.

i'm sure there's a zillion people down there by now, though.  wasn't anything in there after the first good rain brought the river up, that's when i usually can catch a fish or two before the crowds come out.
