Title: Washed out daytime photos
Post by: Gopher on February 02, 2015, 09:08:03 PM
Anybody have an idea as to why all of a sudden my Bushnell trail cam is taking only over exposed and washed out pics?  Fresh batteries don't make a difference and none of the settings have been changed.

Is it pointing south???  How old is the camera?  My 5 year old bushnell gave up the ghost....so it could just be broke.

Also try a different SD card before you throw it away.   I have had SD cards make my trail cams go wonkie.

:yeah:  Sounds like they are getting too much sun.

I've got one doing the same thing. It's been in the same location for the last 2 years. It also quit taking nighttime pictures. Just black screen now like the IR flash crapped out.

Thanks for the input.  At first I thought maybe it got caught looking into the sun but even on cloudy days it was washed out. It's about 4 years old.  I have tried looking the problem up on the net and have seen in several places that many trail cams start doing that after 4 or 5 years.  Not that big a deal to replace it but I just wanted to find out if I was missing something before I did.
