So I've been in a discussion with a couple people and and I'm wanting your guys/gals oppion of your favorite lake in Eastern WA (that actually has trees in the area, ie... not sagebrush country).
Fishing? Camping/RV's? Cabins? etc...
thanks

My favorite is fisherman's cove on curlew lake a close second is Beth and beaver lake campground near chesaw i don't actually stay at this one because i own property very close to it but i love to fish and picnic there.
-
Sun Cove resort on Wannacut Lake has everything youre looking for plus a pool.
-
Tagging along for this one. Always looking for a good camp spot.
Steamboat state park on banks lake is pretty nice and has a few trees and great fishing.
-
Lake Roosevelt- Hunters campground. Just camping and RV's. Clean, rarely full, good boat launch and fishing. All camp spots are under big pines with several virtually on the beachfront.
-
Those are great spots! I like several areas in the NE corner! I also like Idaho :chuckle: So many choices.
-
We used to camp at 25 mile creek campground or up lake by boat on Lake Chelan. We had people who fished, kids, boats, jetskiis, 10 days of friends and fun every July.
-
Concunally, but I prefer Banks lake. (more sagebrush) but more fish!!! Lake Roosevelt.

I like crawfish lake, but they don't have full hookup's
-
Lake Pearrygin State Park is one of my favorites. The Wake boats do take the lake over thou.
-
I'm a bass guy so it's been Banks and Potholes for me and family. State parks for camping at both. Getting a spot is the trick
-
Just across the boarder in Idaho, Farragut State Park.

:yeah: i second that very nice farragut campground but if your just fishing potholes and banks are good to.
-
Farragut is very nice.. What do you have against sage brush?
-
Steamboat/ Banks
Every year for 10 days at the end of May. Hard to beat!!
-
I wouldn't consider this the best but Bumping Lake is a great place. It is never crowded (that we've been there anyways), nice campgrounds, lots of trees and hiking opportunities. Also wheeling nearby if you're into that too.
-
My favorite is Bonaparte, if I ever win the lottery, I am going to buy the place. :twocents:
-
STIKNSTRINGBOW, when I win the powerball jackpot, I will send a check to buy that place just give me one campsite on the lake.
-
Gifford camp on Lk. Roosevelt...... North of Hunters. Even less people and more fish...
-
Another vote for Conconully.
-
My first choice always is any Priest Lake Idaho campground.
Conconully is good, very ATV friendly. State park, very ANTI-ATV We used to stay at the Comstock Motel, all rooms have kitchenettes.
-
coffeepot lake by Odessa. primitive and lots of rattlesnakes and ticks. and bring your own water. mike w

Bumping is our start of the season and Lake Wallowa OR is our end of season spot.

Leader lake
-
What about all the lakes going over hwy 20 between Colville and Ione. I love the area for sure.
-
I'm a big conconully fan. Closer to home, I spend a lot of time at fish lake. Alta lake is also great, it is still standing, beautiful and full of trout, go support the local economy.

The Pend Oreille Lake chain. Several lakes with forest service campgrounds. ORV trails and the Beaver Lodge Resort with new owners. Great area for many activities. The lakes are all stocked with trout and I believe some even have bass and crappie in them.

Leader lake
Is Leader still full of rock bass? We use to catch those by the 5 gallon bucket full. I think the state tryed killing them off so it is more of a trout lake? They were fun on ultralite tackle!

My question for the OP is what are you looking for as far as facilities? If you are wanting full hook ups 50amp service I have no Idea HOWEVER if you are looking for solitude away from the hustle and bustle I can name quite a few as long as you're willing to ride a horse in to the lakes and spend some time in a tent, Fred's Lake, Ferguson Lake, Doris Lake, Althpough my favorite is either Eureka Lake or Lake of the Woods, First 3 have great fishing 16 - 18 inch trout and all off the beaten path yet easily accessible via horseback and pack mules..... Other two not so great for fishing but can go back there and not see another person for the entire summer

I really like to see what ever place you think is worth while spending time on your vacation! I like all of the above ways to camp and fish so all of those areas sound great!

Sullivan lake 3 miles long 1 mile wide. Camp grounds on both ends. Good kokanee fishing along with burbot and trout. State record brown trout was caught out of it back in the 60s I believe. We have a cabin on the NE side of the lake so I'm partial to this lake.....lol oh and its surrounded by trees and mountains.
