My daughter loves hiking and she'd hunting with me. Boots are always the trouble. I just can't seem to find good boots for her. Where can I find good boots for hiking in kids sizes?
Need them to be water proof. Comfortable with good traction, keep her feet dry and warm. Quiet is a plus and would prefer they didn't brake the bank as she will most likely grow out of them each season.
Any help would be great

I do get some funny looks walking in there in full camo

Years ago in the Seattle store I asked where the camo section was for a good laugh. :yike:

Outdoor emporium may also have what you need. And at more reasonable prices than REI.

I'd be looking at sierratradingpost.com. Sign up as a member an the prices get better.
Why go to REI in full camo? You mean like head to to camo?

I haven't had any Keen, but my wife loves hers.
As for kids sizes. Wait til they reach the tween stage. Size 6-7. Most kids stop at 6 and most adults start at size 8. I was only able to find 3 options for my son at size 7.
Cabelas also had a good selection in stock.
Look at Zappos online. They allow you to return boots up to a year later. We will buy 2 or 3 pairs try them for a few weeks and return the pairs not approved.

Keen, Hi-Tech, Columbia and Merrell all make some pretty good kids boots. Sierra Trading is generally very limited. Zappos usually has the best selection I've seen in kids. And there 24/7 customer service is great!

amazon?
You can print out shoe sizing charts and stick her feet on the paper to see the size then if they don't fit free return shipping.

Update. She decided on the boots pic above. She loves them! Got her some smart wool socks too that we're on clearance

I purchased my son the keen youth hiking boots in October on our way to deer camp when he let me know his old boots wouldn't fit. I tried every store in the area and no one had his size. Finally stopped into Coastal Farm and Supply and found some Keens that fit him. Best choice I could have made for him. They fit him great and no issues with his feet. I hiked his tail off for a few days.
