Title: First time AR builder
Post by: carlyoungs on March 19, 2015, 07:44:47 PM: I just received all my parts for my first AR build. I was suppose to build with someone who knew what they were doing and has all the tools to build an Ar. Well things didn't work out and now I'm stuck. I have read plenty of articles and watched many video's. I'm sure I could put it together but was wondering if anyone wants to help a newbie with their first build so I don't have to buy all the punches and gauges. I live in lynnwood and was hoping someone in the north sound would be wiling to help out? I think it would be a great thread and i could take pictures step by step to help out the other newbs. If anyone has a half day to help a hunt wa member it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Carl

I do have jigs, punches and a wrench as well as a split ring pliers that I would be willing to loan out if you cover shipping costs to you, I can probably meet you some time to pick them up. I don't have go, no-go gauges though.

Midwayusa has a lot of great videos on AR builds.

I've never done one but I've got some of the tools that it sounds like would be needed. I have oring pliers, pin punches, gun screwdrivers & a vise. I don't have 'the special tool' tho
