Title: Identification
Post by: greenhead_killer on March 23, 2015, 02:56:16 PM: Anyone know what kind of bird/duck this is? Saw it here at work and have never seen one before. Sorry for poor quality. Phone pic through binos. More of a pointed type bill. Two very prominent white patches on the backs of the wings. Orangish/reddish feet. Thanks. Trying to improve my knowledge.

did it dive or puddle?
about how big was it?
could you hear the sound i made?
bill color?
was it far out or in shore?
lake or river?
Were there more than one?

you don't have to answer all of them but it would help paint the picture :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Yep! Lots of them out in the salt. A non-huntable bird! No season for them.
