Title: My builder project (Bighorn)
Post by: usmc74 on March 29, 2015, 07:44:14 PM
I got a Boyds lightweight thumbhole stock for Christmas from my kids.

Didn't like how the action screw went through it, so decided to install a pillar.

View of the 1/4" this wood to support the action screw (why I didn't like it):

Bored out the hole to 9/16" and Devcon epoxy glued the 1/2" aluminum pillar into place.  Then Devcon bedded the action:

First time doing either, pillars or bedding.  I'm happy with the results.

Next is my centerfire rifle
