Title: Elk with Primos Ultra 35
Post by: bobcat on March 30, 2015, 11:11:49 PM
I just got some pretty good elk pictures with my Primos Ultra 35. I sure wish I would've bought more of these cameras when Bob's Sporting Goods had them for $25. But, I'd still recommend them for the $78 that Walmart and Amazon are now selling them for. I doubt you could beat them for that price.

I'll include one picture of myself, just to show how the elk showed up only one hour after I was there.

Good pics!

I had an Ultra 46 that worked well...but a big blacktail buck put a tine thru the sensor window during the rut and it eventually died.

I'm thinking (now much more seriously) of getting a couple Primos cams. I have a Browning dark ops that quit after two weeks. Worked really well until that, but I haven't heard of any such issues with the Primos.

Nice pics! Make me hungry.

Like I said, I think it's a good camera for $78. I've been using two for over a year now with no issues. Some cameras do take better pictures, like my Moultrie m80, but these Ultra 35's are great for the price. They're extremely compact, very simple to use, easy on batteries, fast trigger, etc. I just can't think of anything bad to say about them. If you buy from Walmart online you can get the extended two year warranty they offer for just a few dollars more.

Checked this camera today, after not having checked it for 2 weeks, and got a few more elk pictures. But what surprised me is a couple of small bulls still packing last year's antlers.

I've seen westside spikes carrying head gear as late as May 20th.  Thought is was a one time deal until I saw it exactly a year later about 50 miles away.

Thanks Bobcat for the recommendation. I have 3 other Moultrie cameras that I spent about $150 on each, they're great but that's a lot of money and I want more cameras.
So I had walmart send me one of the Primos Ultra 35 cameras and put it out a couple of weekends ago in the Snoqualmie tree farm.
There were so many pictures, I made a slideshow of just the elk. (And I felt the need to add music because it's fun.) Nice camera.
