I was looking through lakes on the eastside and am interested in possibly trying out Beehive. I have a 9yo little girl that likes to fish for trout and I enjoy our little fishing expeditions together. I couple questions for those in the know:
1) It's a 3hour drive for us to get there, is it worth it?
2) Are there decent camping areas at the lake or nearby? By decent I would mean areas that aren't full of trash and people intent on partying.
3) Is July a good month of the year to head out there?

Beehive could be a nice little lake but it gets real, real heavy use and with heavy use come lots and lots of trash. Early in the season would be best because the trash has not had a chance to build up yet. Later in the season (July) time frame the place will look like a city dump. It's not a real big lake by any stretch of the imagination but does get a heavy plant early in the year so your little ones might have a chance of catching a fish or some trash on the end of their line. There's not any camp grounds in the area to speak of but Wenatchee is close by. Sun Lakes state park would be a much better place to camp and fish with the little ones and it's got nice clean camp grounds with several lakes to choose from, all with heavy plants early in the year.
