My W/T was over 21"

Sorry, can't get the pic to rotate while using my phone. If someone could rotate it, that would be great.

I'm assuming the archery bucks were taken on the quality permits due to the snow. I really prefer that kind of hunt over the rifle in less desirable conditions. Was the archery hunt an enjoyable one and did you have a chance at different deer?

I did have a draw tag and seen many good quality deer.... I was fortunate to take the deer I did, I'm not really that into the archery scene, but will use whatever means to be hunting late in good quality areas.... Hunted for 6 days before getting the one I did..... Great weather, snowing most of the time....
-
Sweet, I want that hunt. I just don't want to waste my points on the rifle hunt. I would be happier with a smaller buck in archery, as long as there is a chance.
-
23" even 127 5/8" net
Body size huge
-
Nice buck!
-
That thing is as big as a Horse! Nice Buck
-
A tad over 28. When I first saw him, I thought I may have a chance at my first 30"er!
-
I would have guessed 30". Anything over 26.5 gets tough for me to judge and anything over 150" total gets tough. I just know it is big and I am shooting.
Nice buck for sure.
-
30" is overrated... mass and trash is the good stuff.
-
link..that's a great looking buck. I'll give ya 30"..lol
-
26" and a bit more:

Link, that's a NICE buck. I'd have thought him to be over 30" as well.
Wow...

I want a 30 incher so bad, I dont care if his forks look like sporks.
-
Not sure if this will show up very good, just a cell phone pick.
-
30" is overrated... mass and trash is the good stuff.
Agreed 100%

Agreed 100%
Not when that thirty incher has mass and/or trash!
-
Yes, but I'd take a 22" wide muley with 40+ inches of mass over a 30"+ wide muley with skinny little points. That's all I was trying to say.
A couple inches in width on each side is not nearly as impressive as an additional 15" of mass measurements on your average muley.
-
I know and I agree. Mass is much more impressive than width, I was just saying I hadn't gotten a real wide buck yet.
-
Tine length also helps improve a muleys score but those 30" are nice to.

:chuckle: Yeah, and to Miles' point, who cares!

Uh huh, and if you never find one 30", I'd say you have still done okay. :chuckle:

:yeah:
I am guessing his wish for a 30"er is because he already has one with mass and trash. If he would have shot a 30"er instead he would be looking for the mass and trash instead.
We always want what we don't have.
-
21 not the widest but the coolest buck i ever killed.
-
Nice buck!
-
26" and change widest inside.

I believe I might have filmed that buck opening day of general. If not, he's a mirror image. I guessed him at 26" as well.
-
Love those last 2 bucks! Great character!
-
Some fine deer guys  I need to get serious about Mule deer one of these days ..
-
:yeah: I can't bring myself to chase mulies when there are blacktails to be shot.
-
You keep shooting blacktails like you did last year Kodiak and I can see you're dilemma ;)
-
better yet, shoot a 30 inch blackie and show us all up
-
better yet, shoot a 30 inch blackie and show us all up
I would retire if that happened. My uncle did get 100 acres in southern Oregon and he said there are some whoppers running around down there, so who knows. :dunno:
