Well, today was the Knight Revolutions first time to the range. I shot 90gr Pyrodex Select, 338gr Powerbelt Platinums and Winchester W209 primers. Every thing went great, my first 3 shots were great and with some sight adjustment, I got it center over the bullseye.
Primers did come out with fouling but it wasn't a huge amount and clean up of the action with one of the Swaubers did the chore easily.
I had wrapped the breech plug in white teflon tape and added a thin layer of white lithium grease and after firing 8 shots I decided to call it quits and went inside with a 1/4" drive and squinted my eye and turned the ratchet and to my surprise, there was nothing holding it in tight, no fouling on the threads at all. Surprised the hell out of me.
Its kind of a huge shocker having to tear the rifle down this much for cleaning. Im used to my break open and just removing the plug and pushing the fouling out the bore from the rear. Not a biggy, This one is just the back up rifle and if I ever need a scoped muzzy, especially for my new mexico hunt if I draw a tag. Good to have a nice back up!
Doesn't need a recoil pad at all! At 8lbs, its heavy enough to suck up the recoil and make it easy on you. I do believe I will upgrade to a Williams peep sight down the road.
For now, time to find some rings for it. I have a KonusPro 3-10x44 scope and just not sure what height of rings I will need.
Target is from 50 yards. First 3 shots surprised me.
