since bear season opens next week for a few selected hunters. Though I could start a poo thread. So post up your best pile. Here's one from last year while elk hunting. I almost stepped in it :yike:
-
You've got to be kidding. What a crappy topic. (I couldn't help it....sorry)
-
Looks like a rough night of partying from the night before....
-
Everybody please do know that Drock is on the smaller side of stature, so his size 4 children's boot is a little misleading! :chuckle:
But hey it's a nice pile non the less.
-
How has this not surpassed the Bigfoot thread in page count already!?
-
This one is from my spring hunt 3 years ago. I wear a size 9 boot for reference, just a bit bigger than Drocks size 4. :chuckle:
It was the size of a loaf of bread.
-
I've got some really pics to upload
-
This is one of five piles that were on the same road!
-
This bear had found some plums - lots of big seeds.
This was below an apple tree up in the NE corner, late summer.
-
pooped out a whole apple????? dang!
-
This is going to blow your minds!
-
It's a cow patty
-
Hah non this in the mountains no trails within a few miles even led to this ridge. Not too fresh though.
-
Holy bear crap

grass grass grass! Spring bear food!

So many pictures of poo.
-
Klikboom, that looks like horse poo to me. :dunno: If not then that is the biggest bear scat pile I have ever seen, at least by a black bear.
-
Looks to me like he was right near a bedding area. I'd guess its multiple drop offs where the bear does his deed before bed or after waking up. I've found a few places where there is lots of poo in a timber/brush area and can usually find a bear bed within short distance.
-
Anyone remember the thread with the huge pile of poo? Here is a link: http://hunting-washington.com/smf/index.php/topic,122114.0.html

I watched this bear drop this pile last weekend. I was 15 feet away and he never knew I was there.. Really nice bear but no tag...
-
This must have been relieving

Check out the diameter of the cylinder extruded by this critter. Very close to 2 3/4" diameter tailpipe. Four inch ruler in the pic for scale.
Minutes old and he was likely watching me or at least listening to me when I found his scat and took the pic.

Truth in disclosure: this was a little ways over the line into Canada.

As you know, most spring bear scat is green when it comes out and turns black after a little while exposed to air. The green stage looks grosser than the black IMO. This was late summer, near an oat field.
