Title: Getting there with 100gr A-Max
Post by: Blacklab on April 11, 2015, 10:07:41 AM
Wasn't getting the groups like I should with AA upper and 18inch barrel. I returned the barrel to AA for a chamber check. They returned it saying all is good. So now I know it's me and my build  Put it all together very carefully making sure all is square. This Is what I got first 5 shots  The first 2 went left last 3 went 10 ring. Not sure what was going on seems to be all good now. Didn't use the chrony. But very happy happy. Looking forward to more range time

When it comes to AR's the majority of the time it makes a diference with the first round fired if you lock the bolt to the rear and use the bolt release to chamber the first round, as compared  to using the charging handle on a closed bolt to chamber the first round. In most cases dropping the bolt using the bolt release will put the first cold bore round closer to your point of aim.

The 100gr A-Max should do well, the increased speed added to its BC shines.
