Post by: asl20bball on April 17, 2015, 12:01:28 PM
Eastmen's Hunting had an interesting blog about a few amendments aimed at selling federal lands to pay off the deficiet. SA 838 and SA 747.   747 reads:

Description:   None
Amends Bill:   S.Con.Res.11

Sponsor:   Sen. Lee, Mike [R-UT] (Submitted 03/25/2015)

Cosponsors:   1

SA 747. Mr. LEE submitted an amendment intended to be proposed by him
to the concurrent resolution S. Con. Res. 11, setting forth the
congressional budget for the United States Government for fiscal year
2016 and setting forth the appropriate budgetary levels for fiscal
years 2017 through 2025; which was ordered to lie on the table; as
follows:

At the appropriate place, insert the following:

SEC. ___. SPENDING-NEUTRAL RESERVE FUND RELATING TO SELLING
NONESSENTIAL FEDERAL LAND WITH THE PROCEEDS
                   GOING TO FEDERAL DEFICIT REDUCTION.

The Chairman of the Committee on the Budget of the Senate
may revise the allocations of a committee or committees,
aggregates, and other appropriate levels in this resolution
for one or more bills, joint resolutions, amendments,
amendments between the Houses, motions, or conference reports
relating to the sale of nonessential Federal land sold for
the purpose of reducing the Federal deficit by the amounts
provided in such legislation for those purposes, provided
that such legislation would not raise new revenue and would
not increase the deficit over either the period of the total
of fiscal years 2016 through 2020 or the period of the total
of fiscal years 2016 through 2025.

****PLEASE TAKE ACTION & CONTACT YOUR SENATORS/REPRESENTIVES****  here is what I sent:

Hi (SENATOR/REPRESENTATIVE NAME)
Regarding SA 747 to Amend Bill S. Con.Res.11 (pertaining to selling off of Federal Land to reduce the federal deficit)...

I STRONGLY urge you to vote "No" on this and on any other legislation aimed at selling off public land. Public land is OUR land. Once it is gone, it is gone forever. How about we think of more creative ways to creat revenue streams rather than selling it. Why not ask the forest service to expedite the logging permit process to generate long-term renewable revenue? What about getting rid of the red tape to get various permits, therefore lowering man-hour costs? There is room for process improvement. Selling off the land is not the solution.

Public land is held by the public- real live people. The owners of this land are the same people who have dreamed for years of taking their children to recreate on a public land.
There is a lot of federal land in Washington state and I'd hate to see any  of it go away. VOTE NO! This will impact future generations and citizens of our state profoundly.

Thank you. I trust you will make the correct decision.

Well if they don't sell it,  They should at least have the decency to turn the "land Management" over to the "private" sector!!  They(The Feds, States) have proven INCAPABLE of doing that simple task, thanks to University Profs, Greenie Wheenies, Politicians, and Activist Judges and crooked Lawyers!

Well at least "timber company's" know the difference between "revenue" versus "expenditures". :yike:

Landscapers know what "the bottom line" is all about.

Etc Etc Etc!!

Government DOESN'T.
