Question is: If I buy a new Washington State legal muzzleloader, will the 2 F powder work ?
What do you guys have in the way of a Wa State legal muzzleloader ?
How far will they shoot , are they accurate and how much are they ?
Likes and dislikes ?

These are probably the front runners
CVA makes or made several
Thompson used to make some, but not sure if they make any right now that are legal for NW
They will shoot a long ways and accurate. I have put 8 inch groups together at 225, but not with open sites.
I would say comfort level with open sites is the limitation. 150 is where most long range shooters lose the target. 100 -125 is where most start to limit themselves.

2f is good to go.
I'm running a Knight Disc Extreme. $400-500 I think. Really nice rifle, haven't shot it yet but fit and finish is the nicest one I've ever owned. That's compared to a couple T/C's and a CVA.

.54's harder to come by in these newer muzzleloaders.
more options in the .50 by far including accessories as well.
Knight has 3 viable options that are currently produced as the elite versions of what is available in the NW muzzleloader market. I would be looking at one of those for sure. 100-150 yards with a Williams peep set up for me.
However, I shoot a Remington .54. It isn't made anymore, so I will be upgrading in the next 5 or so years to a Knight unless something comes out in the next few years that is worth pursuing.
I shot a decent bull at 80 yards last year, and that was well within range. very comfortable shot off hand.

I have a disc extreme western. I am amazed how accurate this thing is with a williams peep and stock front sight. I shot 2 groups last friday that are legitimate sub moa groups! One with 250 grain knight red hot bullets and the other with 290 barnes tez bullets. Never would i have imagined that i could shoot anything moa with open sights... maybe i got lucky! :chuckle:
Get a williams sight hood and you will be even more impressed. :chuckle:
