So last year was my first hunt for elk. I got within 150 yards if a bugler, but no go because of fog.
This year I need a call or two. I've read that seasoned pros recommend several cow calls for sound differences. What are some easy fool proof and hopefully handsfree calls for bow and rifle?>
I was looking into the Primos imaka da bull crazy, primos cow girl, flextone bootie call, primos hyper lip (for far calls), and Bugling bull diaphragms.
Recommendations? I was thinking to narrow down to one close call and one far call

Get yourself a Phelps EZ estrus cow call... these calls are great for people just starting out.

:yeah: X2. Called a bull in on opening day last year and shot him at 26 yards. Phelps Calls were the only thing I could use without getting a gag reflex.

:yeah: Also try a couple of the diaphram calls. He was super helpful on recommending some easy to use ones for me since I just started playing with them this year to get ready for the fall. You can get a lot more sounds with them. I also bought a ez-estrus call as well and it is good sounding and easy to use.
