There is not a way to meet that. Washington only has one police academy to train cops and they cannot keep up with the demand. How would this work???

It wouldn't. That is the point of the Initiative. A back door way to eliminate CCPs.

Did anyone check out the one for reforming the electoral college from WA?  Gives Puget Sound a lot more control over electoral votes for president.   :yike:

It is sorta LIKE the "camels nose in the tent" thing. I wouldn't mind some sort of requirements for a CPL, but I am afraid of the camels nose.
I have looked at other states CPL regulations and most seem less then this proposal.
There's nothing wrong with the way the State is going about issuing CPLs as it is. IF IT AINT BROKE, DON'T FIX IT.

Your animus against Seattle is getting the better of you here.  This initiative would actually do the opposite.  It would divide up the electoral college in the state of Washington by Congressional District, and some votes would go to the winner of that district no matter the state wide results.

In 2012 President Obama received all twelve of Washington's electoral votes.  By my (back of the napkin) calculations, if this initiative had been in place, he would have instead received ten of Washington's twelve votes and Mitt Romney would have received two instead of zero.  My math is rudimentary, and if anything, President Obama could have received less votes by losing the 3rd and the 8th districts.

I would posit that that this initiative would do (and is meant to do) the direct opposite you fear

I actually think Mitt Romney received the most votes in both the 3rd and the 8th , so the electoral vote would have been Obama:8, Romney: 4 had this initiative been in place.

You're right.  Not sure what I was reading.  :dunno:  I had the impression it was one vote per district, two for population overall to determine winner take all.   :sry:
