Title: furry thing
Post by: blindpig on January 05, 2009, 08:39:19 AM
I have one of those wiggler things, that wiggles around on a stick while calling yotes.  I was wondering how far away to place this thing, 50 yards, 75?  I should probably keep it within sight right?

I usually place mine about 50 yds away.  I think it depends on what weapon you're using and the terrain.  I hunt with a rifle in some pretty open areas.  If you're using a weapon with not as much range, I would think you would place it closer in the area of 25 yds.  :twocents:

If you can guess where the dog will be coming from, position the decoy to where the dog will be paying attention to it without looking directly at you.
