Title: anyone own a rossi .410 .22lr combo?
Post by: NW-GSP on May 12, 2015, 09:07:23 PM
I'm looking at getting one for my eight year old son. Just wanted to hear some reviews on it before buying. Or if anyone also has one for sale?.

I bought the matched pair youth model from a member on here for my Kid. but i went with the 22lr 20 Ga. The 20 Ga my kick more but i can at least get ammo for it, AND i already own a 20 ga so I like to keep some of my ammo standard instead of owning one of everything. Its a good little gun and a great way to get your kid Started shooting.

I've owned one for 10 years now and its fairly worn out, but it has been a great tool for young and small shooters. I swore I would never own one and that my kids would learn on a 20 ga. like we did, but I soon learned it was more important to get them shooting any way I could. Yes, ammo isn't as cheap or as easy to find as 20 or 12 ga., but how many chances do you get to start a new shooter off the right way? My advice, buy it and let your kids shoot it till it falls apart or they outgrow it.

I have a .243-.410 combo I bought for my son this year, he is also 8 yrs old. Its a PERFECT youth/ladies combo package. And single shots are very accurate guns! Its a good choice and a shotgun/rifle in one! Cant beat it for a young buck.

Bought one for my kids a few years back and they hated (bruises) the .410bore, I believe it weighs around 3.5-3.75Lbs! I have taken it to many Hunter Ed. classes for field day and not many of the small shooters that pick it, want to fire it more then twice! Ended up stepping up to a youth semi-auto 20 gauge that was a pleasure to shoot for them when compared to the Rossi. My :twocents:
