Title: Colockum permit ?
Post by: CP on May 14, 2015, 07:06:33 AM
Hunt # 2063 – Colockum - any bull permit - lists GMUs 328, 329 & 335 –

Does that mean the permit holder can hunt anywhere in those GMUs or just in the Colockum?

99% Sure its all of the GMUs.  If there are specific hunt areas that are not full GMUs, they're given an "Elk Area" number and it is defined by description in the back of the regs.  In this case, they give full GMUs so each one is open.  Colockum is just the name of the special hunt in this case and gives a rough idea of the area.

Good luck with the draw.

That would be an OK tag to draw...... :chuckle:    Three units for the price of one would be one hell of a hunt.

:yike:  I resent that...there's no roads down there so how could I possibly hunt?!?!?!?! :dunno:  there probably be better habitat in the Colockum for the elk to take cover in if you'd stop chucking all the wood! :bdid:

Here's a thread with a video that woodchuck posted showing him killing the last elk in the Colockum and how he just rips the hide off with such ease. I think he was trying to chuck it as well??? >:(

Sorry for derailing the thread. That's an awesome area and holds plenty of quality bulls.

True! First time we put in for that tag there were like about 90  M/R tags for those units....... any guesses when that was?
