Title: Surprise Catches!
Post by: Hot Lunch on May 17, 2015, 11:06:39 PM
With Sockeye season just around the corner I thought I would throw out a topic on what you least expected after getting that FISH ON pound down!

I'll go first, while dialing in the Hanford Sockeye fishing I was out with a friend looking to find the lane to put 8 sockeye in the boat, limit had not jumped to 6 yet. I moved a few times after not getting aligned in the current, then it was hammer time for the 2 of us... LEGALLY running 4 rods!! Sockeye in the reach LOVE small coon shrimp spinners. But so do suckers, after seeing the bronze flash I though dang it another sucker but as it got closer I saw some teeth and then I was saying don't cracker that pig WALLEYE!! Now I know walleye will hit shrimp spinners, and the reach has a few of them patrolling the shallows. There is also one other fish in that pile that is NOT a sockeye anyone see it??
