They seem to turn out pretty nice! Post by: 724wd on May 19, 2015, 10:00:04 AM: YEARS ago I read a story in either Bugle or more likely Grey's Sporting Journal (AWESOME mag, BTW) about hunting elk in the western WA jungle like that. You photo of the hard horned bull looks exactly like what I had pictured all those years ago. So cool! :tup:

I remember the author explaining how he would run the elk down, bump them, run them again, bump them, and eventually he'd catch them resting a bit too long and whack one. Had a photo of a MONSTER with a HUGE club drop tine. super cool!

Post by: magnumb on May 19, 2015, 12:48:04 PM: That's exactly how I finally put myself in a position for a shot on quite a few bulls in the '80's and very early '90's when still able to hunt the Nooksack herd.

That's a young man's game now......... :P
