Title: High Lakes
Post by: HoofsandWings on May 23, 2015, 12:35:09 PM
Anyone get any nice ones so far this year?
The son of a grocery store owner fished one of the lakes I am headed for. 28 inch brown trout. I may be able to get a copy of a picture when I get there.

Are they even opened yet?

My guess is that with the mild winter we had all the mid level lakes have open spots that are quite fish able, and some higher south facing lakes higher are open some too.

I once fished upper granite on 15 May that had a spot the size of an Olympic pool open and caught lots of fish.   :chuckle:

The same upper granite that has grayling? I've always wanted to try that lake, how is the hike in?

The last time I was in there was early 90's, it was a ten mile round trip on an old logging road most of the way then bush whack up a steep clear cut for a short distance. I bet the road is all grown up in alders now, and miserable plus they gated the road much further down the mountain that's when I stopped going.

I never did catch any of the grayling.
