Headed to LaPush Wednesday afternoon with my WV hillbilly buddy, CapSilver, Sal and his son... But found out just before leaving the wonderful WDF&G cancelled Thursday Halibut offshore, so decided to run to Sekui instead. Never Halibut fished in Sekui and every one stated no body catches Butts on Pipe Jigs in the Straights - they are wrong! We rallied 5 for 5 on Butts by 0730hrs, so only choice, fillet them up and pack them away and head to LaPush for Sea Bass. Stayed in contact with Robodad and his crew, they had theirs also about the same time. We both loaded the boats and headed West. We had 50 Sea Bass within two hours of launching for the five of us... After a lot of filleting we headed back to Sekui to spend the night. Cap Silver had to leave to pack for his trip back to Europe and my other friend and his son decided they better be at a baseball tourney. T-Mike and his son Wyatt joined us for the Friday halibut trip. Took alittle longer Friday, but we were done 4 for 4 by 1100hrs and had 4 bonus Pacific Cod. Great trip again with great friends and their kids... Wyatt was a machine! He netted, he gaffed and he Harpooned- sharpening his skills for later in AK for big Butts! Put 7 hrs on the new motor! Ready to see what she'll actually do soon!!!!

Sekiu was packed but lots of halibut caught,ive been goin there for 4 or 5 years and this was the busiest ive seen.we got two 35 pounders and a 72 pounder saturday then got almost skunked yesterday,only one ling.got pretty choppy so we quit early.cant wait for next year already,so much fun harpooning and shooting fish! Actually thinkin about goin back next weekend for the derby if it works out.

Reason it was packed was all the folks that were scheduled to head for LaPush and Neah Bay that Fish and Game screwed on the very last minute...

Sweet ...making my mouth water ...Went out last weekend ..spent 5 hours :puke: ing ! Was not fun !

I went out of Seiku Friday-Sunday and we got our limit of 4 fish Friday and Saturday within 2.5 hrs, only 2 on sunday but 1 was a 30lbs. All said and done 85lbs of halibut fillets, and a half dozen true cod. Some of the best halibut fishing most people can remember out of Seiku.
