Finally got the brother in law his first legal ling. We have been catching a ton of big rockfish, all released of course. However, the legal lings have evaded us. Not this one. It was just barely legal but a perfect little eater. We fried up a bit with a thin batter and panko and it was great. I love the blue ones...makes for some funky colored filets.

He should be! Yeah, he was, just not a smile for the camera kinda guy!

Looks tasty! :EAT: Best eating fish in the local waters IMO.

I like cooking those green ones with just a little bit of mint. Really messes with peoples head!

He looks like he is holding up something bad like a dead skunk!
Tell him to smile next time. The cooked fish looks yummy, I'll have to try that dipping in bread crumbs after dipping in batter.

:yeah:, yum!

The panko gives a nice crunch. I like beer batter but it can be a little messy. Thinning it just a touch and then using the panko gives a lighter crunch to it. Also, I think it makes the fry process a little less messy.

Don't you owe me fish and chips? :chuckle: You coasties have all the good fishing.

It is nice being close to Everett. I can be on the water pretty darn quick. Now...we don't have all the good fishing....you got walleye and some nice cats in your back yard!

Oh yes. Your thread was just too peaceful so I wanted to stir some coastie/dryside drama in there is all. :chuckle:
