Title: Drano lake or the wind river

In portland working, not my idea of fun, but while i have the time i want to hit drano or the wind river mabye the mainstreem columbia. wich one are the salmon hitting on better and what is everyone using. I havent fished the lower river since i was little so Any help would be awesome. thanks

I know a guy that fished the Klicatat yesterday and limited on both salmon and steelhead fishing from the bank.

I would not fish drano, possibly the wind in the canyon.... if you have a boat the columbia would be the best bet.

Shad are in as well from Bonneville counts.  It would be fun just to catch and throw them back.

Your past the window.  Probably dead right now.  End of April to mid to later May.  Fish main stream.  June hogs are starting to show.  Fisher lower in the river and you may do well.

where is a good spot below boniville on the wa side im going to hit it hard tonite. is plunking effective i have eggs, shrimp basicly everything. just want to park and fish dont want to mess around with trying a bunch of diffrent rigs. want to fill the freezer with as much fish as i can before i miss the best part of the season. have too work in kansas for 4 mo :'( during the best time where i live

Turn right off of 14 at the dam park and take another right and drive all the way to the end of the parking area. Grab your gear and walk down along the bank and there will be people fishing there. Check out what they are doing and you should be fishing! I don't fish there so I'm not sure how there doing? Seems with the amount of people there every day they should be catching something? Good luck and keep us posted. Will be curious how it goes? :tup:

Well got soaked to the bone had a few hits the guy above us about 40 yards limited in a couple hrs. looked like he was using the same thing we were. Still any tips on rigs would be helpfull
