If you fish be on the lookout for the sound of banjo music.

I used to live near it and never figured out where to fish it.  Weird river, steep banks, deep and muddy for the most part.

I know it is good for tossing in a few crawdad pots.  :EAT:

I guess my first response to this was deleted.  LOL!!!

1.  IF you see someone illegally keeping fish just turn your head and don't say a word.
2.  There are tons of log jams.  I am not sure it would be worth floating it.
3.  The cutt's are fantastic in late summer.
4.  Silvers come into the river in Sept/Oct
5.  There are steelhead in there but I have never hooked up with one.  I have never seen one caught.
6.  If I was going to fish it I would approach it from the mouth.

Curious - what's the theory on this?

Banjo's and guns go hand in hand!

If you want to go down there and open you mouth.  I will video it from a distance.

Let me say that there are lots of cutts  being kept and I am sure you will get your ass kicked by the locals and what ever you are in will be trashed.  As I stated above will watch/video it!!!

The only time I have seen some of them do the right thing was when an officer was directly watching them.  Other that that they did not care.

Oh, drive down there and see all the fishing shacks along the river.  It is a plunking fishery so when you open your mouth you will have 4 - 5 of them.  You want to get physical you will be messing with 4 - 5 of them.   Just saying...

We've got some property down there and as stated, the cutty fishing is really good and the crawdads are insane.  Not sure about the crazy locals, they've never bothered us any.

Have you floated it lately?  Is there still a ton of log jams?

I haven't been down there yet this year. We've got pretty good access on our property so I don't bring the pontoon. Thought about it, but have never done it.

There used to be a fella that lived along North River up by Artic that would run his small sled up & down the river. That was years ago tho.

That place is a stump minefield, but I've ran my little sled all over the wishkah and east and west hoquiam rivers, so...

No unfortunately I had a change of plans and didn't have enough time to do the whole thing. The water's getting pretty low already so I need to go soon. I will hopefully go in the next couple weekends and will report what I find.
