Title: Eastern Oregon hunting law question.
Post by: Shane54 on June 11, 2015, 06:55:31 PM
Alright I know this will be that "dumb question" , but I will ask anyway. Is there a eastern Oregon general muzzleloader season? I only saw archery only and controlled rifle???? Please excuse my stupidity! And if by chance you could pm me if the hunting near prineville is good that would be awesome! (Not asking for a spot or even a hint about a spot) just asking because my parents are buying a house out there!

No, they don't have any general muzzleloader seasons. You really need to hunt with a bow in eastern Oregon.

Well looks like it's time to bust out the bow again!

The Ochoco unit east of Prineville is a controlled hunt for archery.  Just so you know.

The only "general" hunt in Eastern Oregon, compared with Washington, is archery season. You still have to draw a rifle tag to be able to hunt the specific unit you put in for during the rifle season.
