Done..... Tag notched....pics first, story to follow. 😬 don't want the picture police bustin my chops :tung:
-
I would say so. how many points did it take you
-
You better pray for snow to bring the big ones down, I had this tag two years ago, no snow equals no big migrators. If you get snow there can be some monsters up there.
-
Sweet! I drew the whitetail buck tag for the area.
-
My experience was the same when I hunted there.. No snow, no bucks.. Just my experience..
-
I've seen muleys on the eastside on the mountain from the WDFW and I honestly thought they were elk. HUGE set of headgear on them..
-
I own some acreage the big guys move in come nov . hunt the south east slopes and burn those hours behind the spotter ...this should be a good hunt .
-
Damn! Your one lucky guy to have drawn that tag. My dad and i went partner trying to pull it. My dad had the whitetail tag last year and we saw some nice mulies!
-
My little sister drew it too! When my dad had the WT tag a couple years back we saw decent muleys every day. For the most part 26" 4 points.
I'm not sure that we'll have the time to find a real bruiser. It will likely be 3-4 day weekends for her, since she's only able to take so much time off of school and she's taking that off for a dandy Colorado muley tag she drew this year.
-
I drew that one a few years ago. If I were you, I'd wait till the last week to hunt as that's when you really start to see the rut activity kick in.
-
Having that tag is going to compete with a frank church hunt. Lets hear some of your hunting background? Maybe some frank church pictures?

Maybe some frank church pictures?
:yeah: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I've been bowhunting that unit for close to 20 years. I took a buddy last year who drew the rifle tag and he got a decent 4x4 that he was very happy with. PM me if you want some help. Sean
-
So I told my hunting buddy "yeah that" :yeah: I wasn't going to respond to this post again, but.........
11 Points to draw the tag.
Hunted this unit for archery for the past 10+ years , know it intimately.....the reason why I put in for it.
Have pictures of bucks from the Frank, nothing to brag about....
Killed a decent Whitetail in the unit in 2010 with the "Buck" rifle tag...god bless multi season tags, or at least the ability to apply for rifle hunts when there aren't any decent archery tags to burn your points on (avatar).
Snow or no snow this is still a great tag to have and will be a fun hunt none the less. :twocents: :twocents:

I thought I would get a couple more smart a$$ posts in before you caved...
Having that tag is going to compete with a frank church hunt. Lets hear some of your hunting background?
Probably won't compete in regards to remoteness and adventure but with a shot of snow I'm thinking this tag rivals the Frank in regards to quality? Or at least where we hunted it.

I hunted the Whitetail hunt last year. I could have shot a 4pt or better Muley Daily. We saw 3 that I would say were wall hangers and several that I liked. Leave the valley floor, get high before day break. Last year we had 10 degree temps and good rut activity. The two big Muleys we saw daily above the lakes were about a 1.5 hour climb. At day break they were 1/2 up already.

Any updates??
-
Leave tomorrow night. Have the remainder of season off through the 20th. Ready....
-
Nice...good luck to you. I'll be there on the 20th for late archery
-
Theres a few deer in there. got this one last year during archery that got shot in the leg during the quality tag!!!
Taxi scored it at 176/ 169 3/8 with deductions.
