So my 1911 may have to wait just don't have the funds yet (busy summer). But my second and cheaper choice was a backup piece to compliment my Glock 26. I like some of the stuff I read on the bodyguard and heard its better than the LCP in a few ways but I littarly hated the LCP. And personal experiences with the Smith?

I have a couple and have had no problems at all. They are accurate, I am able to clean a plate rack with them at 10 yards easy enough. The have a very long trigger pull and you have to be patient with the trigger as it seems like it takes for ever to touch off. Dryfire will help in getting used to the trigger. I wouldn't hesitate owning (another) one.

How would you compaire it to the LCP? Have you shot one of those as well? One thing I'm hoping for with the Smith is its little larger size and extra weight might make it a bit more manageable. I know that none of them little pocket rocket .380's are "range guns" but it still got to be able to practice offten with it so I can actually hit something. There wasn't one thing wrong with the LCP that made me get rid of it, it was the overall package that didn't work for me.

luv my tcp 738. 10 ounces. mike w

I have an lcp and wife has the bodyguard. Both shoot and feel fine but not my personal carry. Lcp is for my son when he get older and I have a glock 30 for hunting and personal carry.

I. Carry a sigma 9.
But my LCP lives in my pocket every day.
Pocket pistols are designed as a last resort. When the threat is in your face or on top of you. Press against threat and squeeze till empty.
You will never feel the recoil under those conditions.

Wife and I both use these for our pocket guns when her 1911 3" and my G19 are just too big to conceal. Look at what Jerry can do with one. https://youtu.be/5Fwb-9aYDa0 (https://youtu.be/5Fwb-9aYDa0)

Went to sportsman's over the weekend and got to handle one. In hand it felt a lot better than the LCP. But the trigger...wow, I start pulling with it on my first knuckle and end with it on the second. The weight isn't bad just the length. Trigger kit might be a must, I'm not a trigger snob but wow.

After a few hundred rounds it smooths out a bit. Not great, but becomes much better IMHO. This is not a range gun but more of a belly gun so trigger pull/feel is of little importance to me on this particular piece. I like it is DAO so every pull of the trigger the hammer strikes. I thought about doing a trigger but realized that would almost cost half of the real value of the gun. :twocents:

What about looking at the LC9S? It is a touch bigger than the LCP but much better trigger than the standard LC9. I shot them both at the range and there is a big difference. I was looking at the LCP as well and after handling the LC9 it fit my hand better and is still plenty small for easy conceal/ pocket holster type carry. They should make the LCP in a striker fired version to shorten up the trigger. The LC9S is next pistol on my wishlist.

I'm actually looking to get a shield for my wife here soon :chuckle:, she decided after we get her motorcycle she will need something smaller for riding than her Glock 19. she basically said I should go gun shopping...WIN !
I'm leaning towards the bodyguard to compliment my Glock 26 which will be my primary EDC as soon as my Steathgear holster shows up :bash:.
My original pan was to just use my ol trusty J frame as my backup but after getting a IWB holster for it, its just to bulky and uncomfortable considering there is a double stack 9 there with it.
Also I looked at the original LC9 and it had the magazine disconnect "safety". IMO that is going to get someone killed and I would never own any gun that had such "feature". I don't know if the new one has it but its something to look at. If it has it leave it at the gun store and pick something else just my :twocents:

The LC9s Pro doesn't have a magazine disconnect safety. I have one and really like it. My dad has a Shield and he really likes it. I've heard good things about the bodyguard. I don't think you can go wrong either way.

Oh duh I saw that and typed my question anyways sorry. I think that's a good deal but considering the distance it would cost me the savings in gas. I appreciate the offer though.

I have the LCP and thought it was the cat's meow, until I got a Sig 238, WOW! The Sig is still quite light, but manages the hotter .380 loads without trying to pummel your hand. I think that the LCP has a sharper recoil and is harder on your hand than a 4" Taurus Tracker .44 Mag with 300gr hardcast. The P238 is basically a small 911, and it shoots sweet, check it out, I bet you will like it.
