Same thing as a deer man. Just keep it cool.

That and bring rubber gloves and a face mask! you dont want to pick up those nasty parasites they carry!

That's the thing I've always skinned it and took it to the taxi within a few hours....this is going to be a few days.....I'll bring an extra cooler for just the hides

Tom, you may want to visit your Taxidermist, & have a conversation with them before your trip...what they prefer for field care/prep. Not sure what others do, but if you skin the animal yourself, avoid putting hide in a plastic bag of any kind. Instead, use a burlap bag,old pillow case or laundry bag. Plastic bags tend to allow bacteria to thrive unless in a deep freeze. Also, the ears & face tend to slip ( bears, fox, coyotes, cats) if not handled ASAP, I have had good luck squirting some isopropel rubbing alcohol on any areas I suspect bacteria to be a problem. Keep as cold as you possibly can. If you plan on doing any caping or field skinning in the future you may want to get a scalpel with replaceable blades ( I like #22 blades). here is a link from one of the suppliers I use you may find helpful
