So here is my question. I got drawn for the OIL Aladdin A any moose tag. I haven't heard anything from the DFW yet. Do I just buy my moose license OTC? I have no idea what to do. Maybe someone who has drawn OIL tags before can fill me in.

Moose tag holly cow how did I not hear about this already? I'd call the game department and ask. Also ask for the local bio contact info too. Good luck on the hunt can't wait to see pics.

It's a good year for me Drock, Moose OIL, Umtaneum cow elk tag and a second deer on Whidby island.

You should receive an envelope in the mail from the WDFW in which there will be information on how to purchase your tag.
Honestly I cannot remember what the options were last year when I drew my sheep tag. I do know that you can't purchase the tag online.
I didn't want to take the chance of my tag getting lost in the mail so I bought mine in person at the WDFW office in Olympia. You may be able to do the same at the Mill Creek office. I would call Olympia and ask- 360-902-2515.

The info will be mailed to us by July 15 ( mid July according to WDFW) then those of us that drew sheep, goat, moose the way I understand it get to drive to Olympia and spend another 300.00 plus dollars to purchase our coveted tags, mine in this case is a Goat tag. Waiting on pins and needles!

That will be the best 300 bones you ever spend

You don't have to drive to Olympia, I'm pretty sure of that. You can pay the $332 and they will mail it to you.
-
You got that right, my friend  I drew my moose tag in 96 and if memory serves me right I paid a 100 for that tag, so I guess it is still a good buy, :IBCOOL:

I will wait and see what the packet say's ? I can always tie it into a scouting trip if I drive over.... Also am I correct we need to purchase them before the end of July?
-
I talked with WDFW after the draw and was told the packets would be mailed out around 7/10. I am hoping I can pick up the tag at mill creek. I will make another call tomorrow.

:yeah: After I received my packet last year, I sent a check to them registered mail....worked fine and cheaper than the drive.

Thanks for all the info guy's, I knew I could count on you. I'm am so excited to get this tag. Moose has always been my dream hunt. This won't be the same as a 14 day Yukon hunt but it's way cheaper. I have never done a guided hunt so I sent Bearpaw a $2000 deposit so I can experience a few days of pampering. I did an unguided late deer hunt with him about 20 years ago and that was cool. Him and Tara are good people. Come on October 1!
