I've always heard there are no elk in the Blues.
You do realize that you are being a fed a string of crap because your first post on this forum is asking for a honey hole?
I don’t know anything about this spot and if I did I probably won’t tell you anyway but you might want to read this:

Plenty of information using the search function on this forum. Plenty of time to put boots on the ground learning the area and doing some scouting. It's big country and you'll earn every inch of that 350 bruiser if you find him. Good luck.

I also live on the westside +/- 6 hours away. You'll have fun. It's great country. Put your time in and you'll find elk. Make sure you're in shape because you'll have to earn your bull.

This is why I hate the internet....

That's the only reason?

There is a 99.9% chance that he will be living below the road. :chuckle:
Tell us about yourself? Where you from? What type of hunts do you like? Have you hunted elk? If so where at? Have you hunted canyon country?
Go on a scouting trip and post some pics on here. After that who knows I might help you out

Well I live in Lewis county I have hunted the west side all my life I got hooked on hunting the east from tag last year I love the high country or gods country I call it . My favorite animal to hunt would at most be the wapiti my favorite tool would be a bow but the last two years I got drawn for multi season elk and drew tags both times for modern but there's nothing like having elk right at your face and trying to keep your composure together to make it happen with a stick and string my stompin grounds around here would be vale,Winston at the moment if your lucky to get a accsses pass to enter Weyerhaeuser land I haven't really hunted canyon country my only experience was last year elk hunting goose prarie tag which is the bumping and Nile unit talk about a fun hunt. How about u

Wow much better introduction. Now hang around for a while and guys will start to warm upp to you. Ive spent alot of time in the dayton next door but have friends that have drawn your same tag. My advice would be to get used to glassing. It seems that guys that have done real well in that country sit for hours and glass. Also get a pack on and go in and learn the country. If you document your hunt on here with pictures and ridges and canyons the information that will pour back to you will be ridiculous. Great tag dont let it go to waste!

:yeah:
Right on!! Did you fill your tag last year? You have great drawing luck. Back to back bull tags, This is a great issue to have.
You have a great tag. But to find the type of bull you are looking for you will have to put in a lot of time scouting, glassing, learning the ridge system, getting into shape, and shooting out to 500 yards. If you do all of this you will need some luck. If you don't do all of those things you will need a lot of luck.
As for me,
I like to hunt all sorts of big game in the northwest. I enjoy hunting different species, different terrains, and the challenges they each provide. If I had to pick one to be a favorite it would be a trophy mule deer. I've harvested a lot of nice bucks, but have yet to get a monster. I spent my first 15 years hunting with just a bow, and now I prefer a rifle. But I hunt with all three weapons. In fact one of my hunting goals for WA is to shoot a Deer , Elk, and a Bear with all three weapons. I have most of this completed. This forces you to use different tactics, and hunt new units.

I plan on heading over there in two weeks and start doing some ground work thanks for the pointers

Nice I have always wanted that challenge of stalking a mature mule deer with a bow just say its on the bucket list.
As for my tag last year couldn't have been happier I seen lots of elk in the bumping area but ended up shooting my bull in thick tamarack and buck brush in the Nile
The most rememberable thing would be having my dad by my side , I ended up taking him the second day of my tag he was the biggest bull I seen after scouting two weeks prior I will upload a pick once I figure out how to
