Link, you're going to have to wait several days until they get to the 240" thread:-)

I don't think link is quite to that 240" club yet :chuckle:

Damn nice line up Jim, hopefully I'll be joining this 180+ club when Link and I get done in Wyoming this year.

nice bucks any of those from washington
Yes

All but the last one are from Colorado. Two different units in Colorado. The last one is from Region H in Wyoming. I feel really fortunate to have been in on 7 over 179". I didn't post the 179" buck because I'm not sure my friend wants his pic on here. It's also from Colorado, but a completely different unit than the others.
My best buck from Wa only goes in the upper 150's. Hoping to change that someday because there are a few good ones here. Just need a tag.
-
This one makes the cut. And then some.

I was gonna say the same thing. Also thinking that a 189 score on him seems a bit high... :o

Buck in rear grossed 226"...net 198 4/8. All sheds in front would make for a 180+ buck.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F07%2F22%2F5fb16f34d463b48974bd82bb1debf6c0.jpg&hash=73eb875c4caf768c60f97882797e18926e0b6e63)

Thanks! Grossed 193 and change.
Kenetrek, those were certainly the old days. I bought the bow from my brother for 50 bucks. He was chasin tail and needed some gas money. There was no matching draw length or weight or any of that. String had been on it a decade. It was set at 55 pounds, max. The riser is made of gorgeous wood. Shiny though along with the limbs. I grabbed arrows out of a big bulk box, knew nothing of spine or weight. I practiced lots. My aluminum looked like corkscrews. I filled the quiver with the straightest ones. What drove me to finally hunt with it hard was I was in an internship that was brutal. I only had weekends to hunt. I,can't remember if this was before choosing a season or not. It was the beginning of an obsession. People are always out for the newest fastes. I was probably no fifferent at the time, but I had little coin. Check out that camo. It was just the beginning of the camo revolution. Funny thing, I still hunt in that shirt. 25 years later lol!!!
-
I posted this back in 2010.
Definitely 180+ mule deer. :chuckle:

The mount turned out awesome. I'd like to stop by and see that thing.
Jim
-
Jim, I'm going to be picking it up this week sometime, and dropping off my blacktail from last year. I'll let you know when I get it home.
-
Ok, I'll text you next week.
Thanks Matt
-
This fits in there.
-
Hey Ross,
I think I've seen your buck before. Did you kill it with a bow in the Entiat before they made it a draw to hunt the late season?

-
That's a great bow kill Ross, nice job!
-
great buck what does he score?
-
great buck what does he score?
He scored 191 3/8
He was #2 in the state when I got him for archery now he is like #6 I believe
-
5th in the current book Ross. Awesome.
-
Ross, awesome buck. I remember reading your story in the Wash. State book. I never get tired of looking at that old warrior. What a great buck.
-
Some very nice bucks! I missed my 180 last season :bash:, oh well I landed a 125 inch 4×4 whietail 2 hours later in the same area. As mentioned before it takes alot to reach 180"; mass, tine length, spread. A 180" mule deer truly represents Western Big Game to me.

Sounds like it's worth a thread of it's own? Got a story?

A guy from Sumner worked for me at the time. His name was Bill Curtindale...he showed me the pic.
