Title: decoys

just curious how many decoys do you guys put out in the late season on flooded Field ? me my self  i think I'm gonna try 3 1/2 doz tomorrow

It depends on how many birds are using the field, how much competition you have and what they are using.  If everyone around you is running 3-5 dozen, you may do better with 8 decoys.  It all depends on your situation, sometimes you have to experiment.

I went out and hunted a WDFW area and used a grand total of 5 decoys. Guys in the other areas had a bunch. In my opinion we did better than anyone around. Sometimes less is more with wary late season birds.

The max I have put out lately was 8 floaters...   But at times I will add some field decoys on the shore.
