Last Sunday I took Jasmine to a trainer in E. WA. for an evaluation, and some advice. After the eval. the advice was to leave her with him for a month, so I did. One thing I noticed while I was there was that he had his launcher painted to blend in with the grass. He only used one color, but it was pretty effective. So, instead of moping around missing my pup I thought I would see what I could do to one of my launchers. So anyway here's some pics of my project:

Overall I'm happy with the result. Next time I will use marsh colors instead of the forest colors.

Made a difference. Lighten it up a bit and you will be golden....get it?
Thats a great idea though, I will have to do the same. Hope i can find my launcher it has been awhile. It's a nice easy project for a couple guys that are bored.

Did you see the facebook video of your dog yesterday? She's progressively better by the day, I talked with him on the phone yesterday,he's doing exactly what I'd said I would do with the dog when I saw you at the little fun day in Ferndale about 2 months ago. From what I saw on the video she is starting to get a grip on stopping at bird scent. I personally think you made a pretty good choice. The other pointing lab that is there he is killing birds over and the dog is steady to the report of the gun,I don't think that one has been there quite a month yet either.

Yes I did. It's hard to believe that is the same dog that broke the clasp on her tether going after that escaped bobwhite. :chuckle:

I concur :chuckle:

That was probably Lily's dog Dillon. I believe she gets him back Aug 8 at the clinic at Scatter Creek.

Don't hold me to it, but I believe Lion Country Supply sells their own remote launcher prepainted like that. I also believe their's are comparable with the handhelds that come with DT launchers.

Aspen-I have an LC launcher, they're kind of a forest green.
I just plant it near a tall tuft and aim it a bit in the opposite direction of the dog, and throw a handful of grass over it. No problemo.

I was talking with a pro trainer about my project, and her comment was " Those damn things are hard enough to find in the field as it is. :yike: Besides, the dogs can't see colors anyway."
So, I came up with this:

The grayscale simulates the dogs vision. :chuckle:

Definitely better than my original idea.
