And why do Michelin's have to be so expensive?! Tire Rack does sell the M/S2 in 265/70 for $186 a piece, but then they drop another $17.96 for delivery!
I've been rolling over the options for a couple days now...

I hate the wheels on my pickup. They're garbage chromed aluminum, the chrome is peeling and the junk Schwabbies tires howl like a baying hound dog! So I bought a set of aluminum wheels with 'ok' tires on CL. The wheels are 18x9.5 and currently has 265/70's on them. 265/70's are spec'd for 7-9" wheels. They fit fine, look like they've worn fine, and are similar height than my current 285/75R16s. So I go looking for new Michelin A/T2s or M/S2s around 33" tall. 265/70's spec'd 7-9", 275/70's spec 7-8.5" wheel, and 285/65 spec 8-10"

Pretty much every tire sales outlet on earth with a couple exceptions does the meet or beat/low price guarantee. Trouble is, they won't honor the mail order places because you still have to pay shipping and installation so they're really no cheaper at that point. I'd offer a low price guarantee to you if I could get those tires but I'd tack on $20 per tire when it's an online purchase because you have to pay shipping.
I'd do these for you, for example, for $206 a piece plus install $19.95 each, but that's at my normal price at that point.

yeah, i was looking at discount. we bought my wife's Michelin's there, but they don't have 285/65R18, according to the website :dunno: amazon.com can get me what i want. and i found out my dad has a tire mounting AND balancing machine! :tup:
Call the 800 number. My tires aren't on there either.

18 in tires are more expensive than other rim sizes standard "Bigger wheels" seem to be 20" or 17" Id never own an 18"
Michelin Tire spends about 2x as much on R & D as its next competitor. Goodyear spends 2.3% of its gross sales and Mich Does about 5%. BFG is a Mich owned brand. Michelin is a premium tire and they arnt scared to ask you to pay for it.

I agree on the 18's I'd never own them due to the cost of tires for that rim size. 17's are much cheaper and look just as good. I bough some cooper stt pros from commercial tire and the prices were good. This is a totally different tire than what you are looking for though.
