I was looking through some crabing threads on here and saw one where someone said bear meat scraps work good. It killed me to do it, but I took out a pack of steaks and tried it. Go figure. It out fished every other bait we had. Clams, herring, chicken. Beat them all!!!
Any way, thanks to Jason Stevens for pointing us in the right direction at kayak point today.
Lots of soft shells out there right now.

Yes I useed bear meat in Alaska and worked awesome :tup:yes it was you. Thanks for the tip! Unfortunately my bear meat tastes way to good to use anymore for crab bait.

Next time, keep the scraps fir crab bait.

Sometimes, I think having something different works. Other times, it just isn't too hard to coax a crab into the pot.
I really don't throw anything out these days, it all gets recycled into crab if for no other reason than to save money on chicken and turkey.
