Title: video camera
Post by: trackemup on August 13, 2015, 04:56:28 PM
I know there have been a few threads on this topic before but I could not find any recent ones.  I am looking into getting a video camera to film some of my outdoor activities.  I am willing to spend up to 1000 but I am looking for advice as to if I need to spend that much to get a quality camera.  Thanks for any input.

You can get into a lot of quality for $1,000. You just need to pick the right tools for the job.
First: by outdoor activities, do you mean recording your hunt by yourself, necessitating portability (such as a GoPro) or having a dedicated assistant who can dedicate 1-2 hands to a more complicated setup?
Also: how much weather will it be exposed to? Most Canon and Nikon DSLRs have sucky weather sealing so that rules most of them out.
