Well for our Anniversary, my wife surprised me with a salmon trip out of Westport on the Swifty! She tried the Freedom and Hula Girl first, which were both full. So, so booked me on the Swifty. Looking forward to it!!

The fishing is hot right now mostly all silvers but a lot of action. We landed 32 silvers and one 25 pound king yesterday for our limit of 10.

Fun times ;) and congrats :brew:

Have fun. A group of us are going in mid Sept on the Blue Eyes. Have never gone charter fishing so pretty excited!

Charter fishing for salmon on the salt down there is pretty much the nuts. You do nothing but enjoy the scenery, enjoy some beverages and reel in a ton of fish.

Have a blast.

We took a salmon trip on the Blue Eyes last year. Caught so many salmon, my arms hurt for days! Lots of wild coho. Great trip! Hoping the weather cooperates for us. Anyone ever brine & bright a few herring to try out on the boats?
I heard on the radio that a bacteria is making crab unsafe on the coast. I was planning on maybe crabbing off the Westport dock, wondered if anyone has info on if the crab would be edible?

Crabbing is closed to sport and commercial harvest from the Columbia river north to the quests river. No it's not safe to eat, hence the emergency closure.

Thanks SureThing, I wont take my crab gear then.

Our trip Friday was very slow. Only 7 coho and 1 king for the entire full boat. My friend, and first time fishermen caught the king and a keeper coho. I did not catch anything! Had some of the king for dinner during the Seahawks game and it was fantastic. Still a great trip out on the ocean. Saw two sunfish which was a first for me. The storm Saturday morning was crazy! Wow did it blow! Nice to experience some rain.
