Title: picking the right stand?
Post by: NW-Eric on January 13, 2009, 04:04:22 PM
so i have a few calls and an electronic call on the way and i was wondering what should i look for when picking a stand to call over here on the west side... open timber, logging roads, clear cuts anything to help me narrow down where to start looking for the dogs. i really want to get into predator hunting.

also if theres anyone over here on the west side that would let a young gun tag along on a trip or two to show me the ropes that would be awesome as well.

thanks
Eric

I'm newer to the area so I can't give you a whole lot of advice. . .I've only been hunting for dogs down in Dewatto and Purdy. . .Purdy was private propert but Dewatto is public land. . .went to the newer clear cuts. . .had some dogs come in but I couldn't/didn't see them. . .know they were there though because there were new tracks when I left that weren't there when I walked in. . .

Where are you located. . .I'm in Silverdale. . .if you are close we could go together. . .two eyes are better than one!!!
