Hi, in about two weeks me and my sister are going salmon fishing for the first time!
And I would appreciate any tips like what's good bait or lures for the Puget Sound. Also when you purchase your license do they include the Catch Record Card when you buy it?
Thanks!

Let us know where you are going, boat or bank, and any other details and you'll get a lot more detailed response.

well be using a big medal row boat. And we will be fishing in the Hood canal. And we don't have a huge like Tuna fishing pole but it is big enough for Salmon fishing.

Going old school! I'd be mooching.
Google salmon mooching and you should find tips and tricks, guides on how to rig your bait. Lotta fish have been blessed by a priest mooching.

Thanks I'll check it out!

Check YouTube as well. I'd bet you $1 there are some decent vids on there.

Where in the canal...big area. North end by the bridge you can do good casting off the beach or just out of a boat in 20-30 feet of water. Buzz bombs, point Wilson darts and whole herring are best.
Mid point of the canal same type of thing, as well as some good mooching areas. Mooching is tricky and takes a lot of practice to get good. Browns Point and Hazel Pt are good... Quilecene Bay will be loaded with silvers by then, and there a bunch of pinks running down the western shorelines.
Good luck.

Thanks! Honestly I have no idea where it is at. We are spending the weekend at a old family cabin.
