I just got started kayak fishing and am loving it! Here is the first days catch. Can't wait to get out in the salt water this week and see what happens.

Awesome! Congrats.
More info on gear, setups, tackle, tactics would be appreciated.

Where did you go? My kayak has had more trout on it than I can count. I love fishing out of it!

Also lets see a picture of the yak!

Nice!

Awesome !!!! Now show us the set up. I'm trying to fit some kayak fishing into the schedule. Always curious to see how everyone sets their boat up.

Not great pictures of my set up. But it's a little hard to take pics of your set up while you fish. My typical is my 12 foot sit on top kayak, it has a pole holder so I troll the local lakes for trout. Typically I have my youngest along for the ride, he likes to "pet" the fish. The sit on top gives lots of room for rigging up, landing fish, and untangling kids lines. My old set up was a 10 foot sit in kayak which worked but was much more challenging.(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F08%2F26%2F34414fc96a0954211862f0d5a878693e.jpg&hash=24cb0c2998f7b26d497f458f7ba188a8f08cc17d)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F08%2F26%2Fcb910730e51bb0ad319b9759f752b120.jpg&hash=1f15824251e655cff5c9de561a25d5a3f9434da9)(https://hunting-washington.com/smf/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.tapatalk-cdn.com%2F15%2F08%2F26%2F14ac58afc54a82bf227a26782be8a251.jpg&hash=5a6fddfa35c546d8b224fcbc2987beaa21119baf)

Our whole family (me, wife and 3 boys) all absolutely love fishing from tha yaks.

Nice! I didn't realize so many people fished from their kayaks. I have a Trident 13 w/ a Lowrance Elite 4 fish finder. I'll post some pics shortly but still working on getting everything rigged.
When I caught these I was out on Lake Kokanee, early morning using primarily wedding rings with a bit of worm. Early in the morning I trolled at the surface then later I used the smallest deep six to get deeper. I caught fish both ways but didn't like the deep six with trout much, its kind of heavy and took away from the fight. I'll probably switch to lead core line to get deeper and use the deep six in the saltwater.

Revwrangler what lakes that ?

Rapjohn. I spend a lot of time on rapjohn. It's close, and small so my older two kids can paddle around without a bunch of big boats flying past, and I catch fish every time I troll with a wedding ring there.
