It appears, despite the crazy dry weather, they are still acting like elk! Went and checked cams yesterday and by mid August most were hard horned and rubbing trees, wallowing, and doing things you'd expect them to do pre-rut. My only complaint about their behavior is the daddy of the group busted off his 6 on one side over the last three weeks.. :'(
My stand is now hung and awaiting my return Sept 12th!! Good luck fellas, it appears they didn't all pack up and head out!
