Just got a tip on a big 7x7 big 5x5 and a brush 4x5. Never been to the area but im sure I can find it if the intel is good, and the tipper is a legit hunter, so my question is for opening day, go to my original spot I had planned on or wing it on a tip that's hard to pass up? And a 7x7 is huge for this area on the coast and I have the weyco permit to access it. I get a bull every year in my spot but its no turkey shoot. What would u do?

Its always good to have a backup area. Just would be nice to do some scouting before the season started. I think id have to risk it and go after the 7x7 if you believe the intel is good. He might be long gone if you wait and he gets pushed out after opening weekend.

If you get a bull in your spot every year, why not go check out something new and chase that big bull?
Plus, if you need permit to access that area, I doubt there will be other hunters in the area . I'd go there. :twocents:

I think u boys r right, especially cuz they aren't even cowed up yet he said they were just chillin in a cut mid morning so obviously not much pressure. I would assume some cow callin would bring em in racing each other at first light. And totally right I always got plan b, and c.

go for it !

how many opportunities you get for a big boy like that? Gotta go for a man.

I would just go to your regular spot. Sounds like you will score a bull there. And share the intel with somebody like me that's never killed a big bull before. I know that's what I would do! :chuckle:
